Korça is a city well known for its tradition in the art of pottery. This tradition is long cultivated in the city and it has been conveyed through generations. Artisans of the region have presented various pottery products, alabaster, gypsum, stonework organizing various activities. This tradition is cultivated especially during the celebration of Easter, when people buy clay products in memory of the Holy Spirit for prosperity in their families.
Currently, this tradition is receiving a boost from domestic production but organizing promotional activities which promote the production and sale of these products to the community is necessary. This will also lead to further development of the tradition in the city and beyond.
This is an annual project with the initiative of Municipality Korça and the Cultural Center “Vangjush Mio” and the participation of producers of ceramics from Korça and other towns. This project aims at strengthening this tradition and promotes the values of our region.
