The Municipality of Korça and the Cultural Center “Vangjush Mio” in cooperation with the Association of the Figurative Artists of the city organize the International Colony of Painters “Mio’s days”. 36 Painters participated in the fifth edition of this event. The artists come not only from Albania but also Kosovo, Macedonia and Greece and some other European countries. The past years experiences provide an opportunity to expand the geography of the participants and give our town values and dimensions that it deserves. The participants in this colony prepare their works in the city of Korça and its suburbs during 4 days – time. This event promotes the natural values, the cultural and artistic life of our city highlighting some of the most important tourist destinations in Korça – Voskopoja, Dardha, Vithkuqi, Bozdoveci, Kamenica etc.
The basic materials are made available to the participants. All artists donate one of their works enriching the fund of the Arts Gallery “Guri Madhi”in Korça. An exhibition of all the works takes place in the premises of the Cultural Center in the last day of this activity. Korça represents a studio, with spaces to explore, for it bears an inspiring startling beauty to express their talent. This activity with a perspective of becoming an annual tradition aims not only at establishing bridges of communication between the artists but especially promoting the values of the city.
