He was born in Korca in 1871. He emigrated to Rumania in 1892 and came back at his homeland to work as an activist in the national movement. In 1912 he was the leader of a band of warriors that operated in Korca’s regions against the ottoman invaders. At the beginning of the year 1916 he organized the armed forces for the freedom of Korca’s region and the whole south Albania from the Greek invaders exploiting for this the contradictions between France and Greece for the coordination in the “East Army” (Armata e Lindjes) of France, that was dislocated in Korca. He played an important role in the signature of the Albanian-French protocol in December 10, 1916 in the declaration of “autonomous region of Korca” – the Republic of Korca, which for Themistokli Germenji was an inseparable part of the national territory. His attitudes pushed the enemies to hatch up a trap against him improvising a trial that lead him to being shot in Selanik.
